Serie A president reveals 2025/26 Supercoppa Italiana dates despite venue issues

After winning the competition in January, AC Milan will look to defend their Supercoppa Italiana title in Saudi Arabia later this year.

In the past few years, the Supercoppa Italiana has always been held in January. However, this will be changed this time around, as Lega Serie A President Ezio Simonelli revealed earlier today, as Football Italia relays.

Rather than games at the start of January, the fixtures will take place in the middle of December, with the semi-finals taking place on the 17th and 18th of the month, and the final four days later on the 22nd.

The Rossoneri are set to face Sassuolo on December 14 and Como on December 21, so those games could be moved.

However, there are still decisions that need to be made. Whilst the tournament will, again, be held in Saudi Arabia, the actual destination needs to be worked out. It will be between Jeddah and Riyadh, but clarity is needed.

Schedule Super Cup

Despite winning the competition last year, technically, the Rossoneri will not be given any benefits in terms of their fixtures. Instead, the order will be kept the same. So, the Scudetto winners, Napoli, face the runners-up of the Coppa Italia, Milan.

Whoever wins this game will then face either Inter or Bologna on the 22nd.
