Arsenal will embark on their 2025/26 Champions League campaign eager to demonstrate why they are one of the bookmakers’ favourites to win the competition.
The Gunners reached the semi-final last season, but they were ultimately outclassed by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain.

Champions League 2025/26 – Arsenal preview
Arsenal are one of six English clubs playing in the Champions League this season alongside Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool have been touted as the team most likely to win the competition from that group, but the Gunners could be a better value bet.
Arsenal have more defensive strength in depth than the Reds which could be a key factor in determining which team progresses furthest this season.
TNT Sports’ European football expert Julien Laurens believes Arsenal’s sizeable investment in new players this summer could pay dividends in the Champions League.
“They pushed PSG for the first 20 minutes in the second leg like I have rarely seen a team playing at the Parc des Princes,” Laurens said. “I think defensively they are the most solid – they have even more control with (Martin) Zubimendi in there.
If (Viktor) Gyokeres starts scoring and they don’t have injuries to key players, they can go really far. To me they are the most ‘cup team’ of all the English teams and that is why they will go the furthest.”
The league phase draw has been relatively kind to Arsenal, although there are a handful of potential banana skins amongst their eight opponents.
Their opening game at Athletic Club could be tricky, while Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich will be no pushovers when they visit the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners will hope to have qualified for the knockout stage by the time they visit Inter Milan in January, although they have the safety net of a home game against Kairat Almaty if needed.
Arsenal undoubtedly possess the ability to go a long way in the Champions League this season and odds of 7/1 to lift the trophy are a tempting proposition.
