Barcelona are set to take on Getafe later this evening, which will be followed by an away game against Real Oviedo.
However, all eyes are on Barcelona’s game against Real Sociedad, with the venue yet to be finalised.
Reports so far have suggested that the match will be held at Montjuic, on account of Camp Nou not yet being match-ready.
However, there have been some positive developments lately, with Barcelona even sharing a video to showcase the progress that they have made and how close they are to finalising the first phase of the project.
Barcelona are not giving up
Keeping that in mind, Catalunya radiociting sources inside the club, suggests that Barcelona are not giving up on the idea of hosting the Real Sociedad game at Camp Nou.
The Catalans report that the works have progressed smoothly throughout the facility, which is what led to the club sharing pictures and videos of the stadium.
The video that was shared showcased how entrances, interior lobbies and catering areas are just waiting to be opened.
If Barcelona can bag the necessary permits within the coming days, there is no reason why the club cannot return to the iconic stadium for the Sociedad game.
It must be noted that Barcelona are running against the clock to get the Montjuic match-ready as well, with the club needing to make several adjustments, including the installation of VAR cameras.
The club, therefore, are essentially juggling between two projects and will be hoping that they can get the Camp Nou up and running just in time so that they won’t be required to play at Montjuic.
