Tottenham Hotspur lead chase for £56.7 million Harry Kane ahead of potential Bayern Munich exit – Paper Round

The Telegraph believes that Tottenham are well-placed should Harry Kane decide to leave Bayern Munich next summer.

A £56.7 million release clause could come into effect, and Spurs have £200 million to spend according to PSR rules.

“There has also been big talk around Tottenham Hotspur lately, with the Lewis family insisting that sustained sporting success is top of their agenda following the departure of former chairman Daniel Levy.

“If the Lewis family want to walk the walk, rather than just talking a good game, they will make sure Spurs are at the front of the queue to re-sign Kane next summer if the fears in Germany are realised.

“It would seem that striker will be a priority position for Tottenham to fill next summer and, unlike many of their rivals, the club do not need to worry too much about their position regarding profit and sustainability rules. It has been estimated that Spurs have £200m in PSR headroom, which means, unlike some of their rivals, they do not have to worry about making a big outlay on a player who is at an age where they may have little or no resale value.”

Reports in Spain suggest that Getafe could make a late move for former Leeds striker Patrick Bamford.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since the summer, but can sign for clubs as he is a free agent.

“The 32-year-old is a free agent after being released by Leeds this summer.

“Monchi’s departure was revealed on Monday night, with an official announcement anticipated soon. Villa have been bracing for his exit, earmarking Olabe as their top choice. Olabe is considered one of Europe’s leading football executives and previously worked with Unai Emery at Almeria.

“Alberto Benito, who joined Villa’s recruitment team in May 2023, took over from Olabe as sporting director at Almeria.”

Tyrell Malacia has not yet received permission to play for Manchester United’s under-21 side, according to the Mail.
