Grimsby back to cause more havoc

Fourth-tier Grimsby Town are the lowest-ranked side left in the competition after humiliating Manchester United in the previous round. They won’t mind another Premier League giant making the trip to Blundell Park.

Newcastle out to defend their crown

It was in this competition where Newcastle ended their long wait for silverware last season. A 4-1 win over Bradford tonight has got their defence off to the right start.

Arsenal and Tottenham cruise through

‘Cruise through’ might be doing Port Vale a bit of a disservice, actually. But Eberechi Eze’s goal after eight minutes certainly eased nerves for Mikel Arteta’s side away to the League One side. Leandro Trossard wrapped up the win with a tidy finish four minutes from full-time.

Tottenham meanwhile put three past Doncaster Rovers without reply in north London.
