Chelsea outcast Nicolas Jackson has reached an informal agreement to join Bayern Munich on a permanent basis at the end of the season, according to reports in Germany.
Jackson, 24, signed for Bayern on a season-long loan deal this summer, with Chelsea bringing in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao to bolster their attacking options across a busy transfer window.
An injury to Delap had briefly looked to have scuppered Jackson’s move at the 11th hour, but the Blues recalled Marc Guiu from Sunderland, allowing the Senegal international to join up with Bayern on deadline day.
Jackson has gone on to make three appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga giants, including his first start for the club in a 4-1 victory away to Hoffenheim last weekend.
It had been suggested that Jackson would be required to make a total of 40 starts across the campaign, in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, in order for a €65million (£57m) purchase obligation to kick in at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern’s honorary president, Uli Hoeness, appeared to back up these claims earlier this month, though played down the possibility of a permanent switch coming to fruition, telling German newspaper Doppelpass: ‘He never makes that, so you don’t need to worry.’
But BILD report that there has been ‘another development’ surrounding the clause in Jackson’s loan contract at Bayern – and the German champions have ‘considerable confidence’ in the forward.
It’s claimed Bayern have negotiated a five-year deal with Jackson’s camp and ‘everything has already been contractually agreed’ on the attacker’s side, with ‘other clubs unable to interfere’.
However, Bayern are yet to seriously broach the subject with Chelsea and would likely ‘try to renegotiate to bring down the price’ for Jackson next summer.
Jackson’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs through to June 2033.
Vincent Kompany opted to name Jackson on the bench for Bayern’s Champions League’s win over Chelsea last week, with the Senegalese only introduced in the 89th minute against his parent club.
After being given the nod at Hoffenheim, Jackson will no doubt be desperate to continue his run in Kompany’s starting XI when Bayern return to top-flight action versus Werder Bremen on Friday night.
Speaking to Canal+ last week, Jackson’s agent appeared to rule out the possibility of his client returning to west London at the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.
‘Absolutely not, absolutely not. Today at Chelsea, the relationship with Enzo Maresca isn’t necessarily the best,’ Diomansy Kamara said on the Talents D’Afrique programme.
‘We’re never going to bite the hand that feeds us because Chelsea allowed him to discover the European level. He was there for two years and scored 30 goals.
‘But it’s true that the red cards complicated things at Chelsea. Today, we’re looking towards Bayern and Nico having a good season.’
Kamara underlined the importance of Jackson having a ‘reference point’ like Harry Kane to learn from at Bayern.
‘Vincent Kompany called Nico. He followed him back when he was at Anderlecht and knows exactly what Nico is doing,’ he added.
‘He didn’t put on him any pressure of scoring goals. He told him, “You are 24, you are young. There’s Harry Kane here”… that’s what was missing at Chelsea, a reference point that teaches him the No.9 position.
‘He can play behind the striker, he can play out wide. Vincent Kompany’s team is hybrid.’
