Harry Kane’s remarkable goalscoring feats reached new heights on Friday as he set a new benchmark in Europe’s top five leagues, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals for a single club in elite European competition.
Kane’s historic moment came in typical fashion, winning and converting a penalty on the stroke of half-time, before firing home from close range in the 65th minute to take his tally to triple digits.
Jonathan Tah broke the deadlock from a set piece, and Konrad Laimer nudged in a late fourth to add the extra gloss and preserve Bayern’s unbeaten start.
The convincing win establishes a five-point lead for the Bavarians at the top of the Bundesliga table, reinforcing their status as title favourites this season.
At Bayern, he still has some way to go to match Gerd Muller’s Bundesliga goals record of 365, but another impressive fact is that Kane has scored against all 20 teams he has faced in the league.
The 32-year-old reached his current milestone in just 104 appearances for Bayern, surpassing the previous record jointly held by Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) and Erling Haaland (Manchester City), who each required 105 games to reach the same figure.
It was another night, another record broken for Kane.
Last weekend, during Bayern’s 4-1 win against Hoffenheim, his hat-trick took him to 70 Bundesliga goals in just his 67th game, faster than anyone else in the competition’s history.

Prior to that, he had smashed the record for the most goals scored in 50 Bundesliga matches (55 goals), and the fewest amount of games needed to reach 50 goals in the competition (43 matches).
If that was not enough, Kane also celebrated becoming the first player in Bundesliga history to score from each of his first 18 penalties in the win over Werder Bremen. No player had previously scored 18 consecutive spot-kicks.
His record-breaking form adds to an already prolific start to life in the Bundesliga, where he has been central to Bayern’s title ambitions and assault on the Champions League – a competition in which Kane is the highest scoring Englishman of all time (42 goals from just 58 appearances).
With 100 goals now behind him, Kane’s sights are firmly set on silverware and even more history in the months ahead.

Kane has two years remaining on the four-year deal he signed with Bayern, despite recent speculation linking him with a return to the Premier League — and reported interest from former club Tottenham as well as Manchester United.
However, when asked on Friday whether a move back to England was being considered, Kane was quick to dismiss the idea.
“No, not at the moment. I’m really happy here,” he said. “I’ve got two years left on my contract, and I’m enjoying every moment.
“It’s not something I’m thinking about. I’m happy with the team, with the coach, and hopefully we can keep being successful.”
