IN-FORM RICHARLISON COULD BE KEY
Spurs’ hopes of a breakthrough could hinge on the performance of Richarlison, who leads the line for the Lilywhites tonight.
Glenn Hoddle said the Brazilian, who has started the season well, could have a big part to play, as long as he’s confident and in form.
“I think he’s a classic example of a No 9 who needs another striker up there, not necessarily to play with, but he needs that edge where he comes out of the team, maybe, is on the bench, and still has an impact from the bench. Then he plays two or three games,” he said.
“I’m not sure he’s a player you can put your hat on for the entire season where he’s going to return you a load of goals. He’s started the season like a house on fire. He was absolutely brilliant against Burnley where one of his goals was absolutely stunning.
“It would have given him all the confidence in the world and he is playing with confidence, but you don’t know if you can really say he is my No 9 for the whole season. Had Dominic Solanke been fit tonight, he would have started.”
