The hope is that European football can help kickstart Forest’s season.
Gibbs-White is confident that once Forest get that first victory, there will be no looking back.
“The way to the top isn’t always beautiful and it’s not always glory,” he said. “You’ve seen in the past month and a half here, we’ve had a change of manager.
“There’s been a lot that’s happened within the club. We haven’t got a win yet (under Postecoglou), so it’s not all rise and glory.
“We’ve been through the relegation times and we had a great season last season and we’re in Europe now.
“The manager has taken well to the group we’ve taken well to him. We believe in him and his ideas. He’s well respected within the group and I think you can see how we’re playing out there.

“It’s obviously been a difficult moment, a difficult time. But when we get that first win we’ll be fine.
“This is what comes with trying to get to the top. You’re always going to have blips, but when we get that first win we’ll be unstoppable.”
Forest’s last season in European football, in 1995/96, ended at the quarter-final stage of the UEFA Cup, where they were beaten 7-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich.
Since then, they have been all the way down to the third tier, as well as achieving two promotions to the Premier League.
They returned to the top flight in 2022/23 and their seventh-place finish last year was their best since 1994/95.

That means they qualified for the Europa League, and the upcoming campaign will see them face the likes of Porto, Sturm Graz and Braga.
“To know that European football is back here is such a proud moment,” Gibbs-White continued.
“But it’s something that we can’t take for granted; we’ve got to really grab this opportunity because football is such a short career and you never know when you’re going to get that opportunity next.
“The fans have waited 30 seasons. This might be the only chance some of the players in the team get to play Europa League football, so we can’t let this chance slip away.”
