Scroll through your mini leagues and it is probably like deja vu – the same old names everywhere. And while there is nothing wrong with that, it is unlikely to help you stand out.
Most advice columns go down the ‘free hit’ route, swapping out an entire squad you are not going to actually change. Or they tell you to captain Erling Haaland (which, of course, is 100% correct).

Early in the season we targeted Sunderland’s opponents for points – now we are targeting Sunderland players. The Black Cats have conceded just four goals, with Omar Alderete excelling at the back. He has collected defensive contribution points in four straight games, scored last time out, and even ranks fourth among Sunderland players for touches in the box.
A trip to Old Trafford sounds tough, but this United is not Ferguson’s United. With Burnley (GW8) and Everton (GW10) ahead, Alderete – or team-mates Granit Xhaka (£5.0m) and Wilson Isidor (£5.6m) – looks a smart route.
2. Jorgen Strand Larsen, £ 6.4m (Forward, Wolves, 1.5%)

No goals. No assists. Playing for a team with one point from six games. Madness? Maybe, but there is method here.
Back fit and starting again, Jorgen Strand Larsen tops Wolves’ shot count despite limited minutes. Brighton and Burnley, Wolves’ next two home fixtures, have not kept a clean sheet all season, so the chance is there. If you fancy a gamble, this could be the week.

3. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, £5.5m (Forward, Leeds, 1.0%)

Yes, we tipped him last week. Yes, he blanked. But Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains a sharp differential.
With Spurs arriving at Elland Road on the back of a trip beyond the Arctic Circle, then fixtures against Burnley and West Ham – two of the worst defences in the league – after the international break, the schedule is enticing.
While Anton Stach (£5.0m) shoots most often for Leeds, it is Calvert-Lewin who consistently finds the target (six on target from seven attempts). He has missed four big chances this season – only Haaland and Jean-Philippe Mateta have missed more – but that underlines how often he is in the right positions. We know from his Everton days he can be ruthless, so patience here could pay off.
