Ally vs Fletch Premier League predictions: More misery for Ange Postecoglou and Nottingham Forest, experts split on Chelsea v Liverpool

Ally McCoist and Darren Fletcher are back with their Premier League predictions as Tottenham Hotspur head to Leeds United and Chelsea take on Liverpool.
Liverpool’s shock defeat to Crystal Palace has spiced up the title race, with just five points between The Reds and seventh-placed Manchester City. Arne Slot’s side face a testing trip to Stamford Bridge, while closest challengers Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates. Fletch’s beloved Nottingham Forest are away at Newcastle United, having been booed off in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Ally finally chalked up his first win of the season last week, nailing Arsenal’s 2-1 victory at Newcastle. But he was left fuming as Bournemouth snatched a 94th-minute equaliser at Leeds to deny him another perfect call.

“Fletch got away with one, again,” he sighed. “I had the correct score up until 93 minutes – and obviously Bournemouth equalised in the 94th minute. Anyway, I’m over it.”

Leeds v Tottenham (TNT Sports)

Ally: “Leeds were very unlucky not to win last week against Bournemouth and they have a good home record. But I just fancy Tottenham. I know they were travelling in midweek, but I think they might have a little too much for Leeds. I can see Spurs winning a tight one.”

Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Tottenham

Fletch: “Good game, this. I fancy Leeds to score. I’ve been quite impressed with how they have started the season, but I think Spurs will be too good for them. Spurs have had European football in the week, but I still think they will just edge it.”

Prediction: Leeds 1-2 Tottenham

Chelsea in Liverpool

Ally: “I thought Chelsea were average in midweek against Benfica, who definitely had the better chances. Liverpool have been far from convincing, losing to Palace and then again in Turkey. Chelsea are obviously missing Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill. I can see this being a draw.”

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool

Fletch: “I fancy Liverpool to bounce back. I don’t know what’s happening at Chelsea. Enzo Maresca is under pressure, and they have one or two key injuries. Liverpool are going to get better.”

Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool
