Arsenal had scouts in attendance to watch Kenan Yildiz during Juventus’ goalless Serie A draw against AC Milan last weekend, according to Tuttosport.
The Gunners had a productive summer transfer window. They made eight signings, including three notable ones, to bolster the attacking department.
Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke (currently injured) have made a good impact, and the club could seek to add more firepower in January.
Tuttosport claim that the Gunners were closely monitoring each and every touch of Yildiz, who has scored two goals and provided four assists so far this term.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been following the Turkey international for months, and they are ‘not giving up’ despite the Bianconeri pushing for a fresh renewal.
Yildiz’s current deal expires in June 2029, and talks are ongoing over a £4.3 million per year contract until 2030. It could reportedly be sorted in the next few weeks.
Yildiz would be a gamechanger signing in January
The 20-year-old made 21 goal contributions from 52 appearances in all competitions for Juventus last season. He managed eight goal involvements as a left winger.
This is a position where the Gunners have had a potential weakness. It has not been prevalent this campaign, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli stepping up.
Eze and Madueke have also featured in the role since their arrival. However, Arsenal may ideally want another specialist, and Yildiz would be a terrific acquisition in January.
Yildiz predominantly plays as a left-sided no.10 or on the left wing. He is most comfortable cutting inside from the left flank and averages 1.7 dribbles per game this term.
The Bayern Munich graduate also works hard out of possession, with three recoveries and five duels won per game. He has a good work rate and likes to high press opponents.
Yildiz has immense potential and has started the new campaign brilliantly with six goal contributions from just eight appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri.
He would be a gamechanger signing for the Gunners in January to boost their title pursuit.
Juventus value the youngster at £69m, but it has been reported that Trossard could be offered as a makeweight to lower the package to around £52m in the next transfer window.
The Bianconeri may not let go of Yildiz at the midway stage of the campaign, but Arsenal can make a big statement by bringing him to north London at the start of the New Year.
