“He’s in contact with Juventus and AC Milan.

“The midfielder’s contract with the Citizens expires, and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is exploring the transfer market for a free transfer.

“In Italy, he’s in talks with AC Milan and Juventus.”

MLS wonderkid attracting European attention

Fabrizio Romano believes several European clubs are keeping an eye on Mexico international Obed Vargas ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.

Vargas has scored four goals and provided two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions for Seattle Sounders so far this season.

Romano believes a number of European sides have an eye on the youngster.

“European clubs started tracking and monitoring Mexican talent Obed Vargas for 2026,” read Romano’s post on X, formerly Twitter.

“He’s been voted as best U22 player in MLS with Seattle Sounders set to receive approaches from Europe soon.”

Nubel considering Bayern departure

Florian Plettenberg says Alexander Nubel will most likely leave Bayern Munich on a permanent basis if Manuel Neuer extends his contract with the German giants.

Neuer has been an ever-present in goal for the Bundesliga champions for over a decade, but having signed for the club in 2020, Nubel is now apparently in search of minutes.

He is currently on loan at VfB Stuttgart having spent two seasons at Monaco prior to that.

Plettenberg believes Nubel is unlikely to join Stuttgart on a permanent basis.

“Alexander Nubel currently ruling out another loan spell for the 2026/27 season as revealed on Monday,” he posted on X.

“If Manuel Neuer extends his contract once again, a permanent transfer for Nubel appears to be the most likely option.

“A permanent move to VfB Stuttgart after the end of the season is considered unlikely at this stage.

“His loan deal with #VfB runs until 2026.

“Following his contract extension with Bayern last April, he earns between €11–12m gross per year in an ideal season, with VfB currently covering around one-third of that amount.”
