Manchester United bidders could include Saudi Arabia and Qatar as takeover speculation builds – Paper Round

The Sun reports on the potential bidders for Manchester United as speculation over a takeover intensifies.

Figures from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are mentioned, as are Brooklyn Earick, Stephen Ross, Steve Ballmer and MSP Sports Capital.

“Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh claimed negotiations over a sale are at an ‘advanced stage’.

“Majority owners the Glazer family rejected a huge offer from Sheikh Jassim At Thani’s Qatar-based consortium almost two years ago.

“One possible option is a bid from the Saudis and Alalshikh himself.”

Arsenal could receive additional funding in the transfer window this winter as one of their former players is linked with a move to Juventus.

The Gunners sold Brooke Norton-Cuffy to Genoa more than a year ago, and with Juve interested, Arsenal would be due part of any fee received.

“Norton-Cuffy, 21, left Arsenal for Genoa little over a year ago after loan spells with Lincoln City, Rotherham, Coventry and Millwall. And crucially, the north London side included a ‘sizable sell-on fee’ when they sold the youngster to the Serie A side.

Newcastle United are expected to bring in Ross Wilson from Nottingham Forest.

The chief football officer could be at the Magpies as soon as next week, according to The Telegraph.

“Wilson is in advanced talks to leave Nottingham Forest, where he is the club’s chief football officer, to take a similar position at Newcastle. He is set to officially start work at Newcastle next week if talks continue to progress.

“The Scot’s exit from Forest, after a spell of more than 2½ years, represents an untimely blow to the club and owner Evangelos Marinakis.

“Forest must now look to replace Wilson, and his departure will be a disappointment.”

Endrick could leave Real Madrid in the upcoming winter transfer window, writes The Athletic.

The Brazilian’s lack of game time under Xabi Alonso means he might look for a loan for the remainder of the season.

“The lack of opportunities with Madrid and absence from recent Brazil squads mean those closest to Endrick are sticking to their initial plan: to review his situation in January so he has the best chance of making the World Cup squad.

“That could see him go out on loan for the second half of this season if necessary to get the playing time he needs.”
