Patrick Vieira has parted ways with Genoa after less than a year in charge.
The Arsenal legend leaves the Italian club bottom of Serie A and still without a win this season.
The Frenchman, 49, took over at Genoa on November 20 last year and guided them to a 13th-place finish in his first campaign.
But a disastrous start to this season has seen the former Premier League and World Cup winner mutually part ways with the side after just 37 games in charge.
Vieira’s final match came on Wednesday night when Genoa lost 2-0 at home to Jamie Vardy’s Cremonese, leaving them rooted to the foot of the table.
In a statement, Genoa said: ‘Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of the First Team.

‘The technical guidance of the First Team has been temporarily entrusted to Mr. Roberto Murgita, assisted by Mr. Domenico Criscito.’
Vieira’s departure represents a rapid turnaround in events after club owner Dan Sucu had given him a public vote of confidence earlier this week.
Sucu, 62, argued on Tuesday: ‘Here we do not have a plan B, C or D. I have complete confidence in Vieira.’
He departs having overseen 37 matches, recording ten wins, twelve draws and fifteen defeats across all competitions.
