Hannah Eurlings levelled for the Belgians once again early in the second half, but Esther Gonzalez struck back instantly before Mariona Caldentey’s close-range effort, a Claudia Pina stunner and another tidy Putellas finish wrapped up a dominant win.
Spain are top of Group B with six points and guaranteed a spot in the knockout stages, while Belgium are out.
Montserrat Tome’s side showed why many consider them tournament favourites early on when Putellas finished a classy, flowing team move with a curling finish.
However, the celebrations had barely died down before Belgium had gone up the other end and equalised, Vanhaevermaet powering home a header from a corner to notch an instant response.
A helter-skelter first half was wide open, with Spain dominating possession but Belgium providing fierce resistance.
That eventually broke for a second time when Paredes nodded in unmarked from a corner, and it was very nearly three on the brink of half-time when Vicky Lopez’s effort was cleared off the line by Jill Janssens.
Aitana Bonmati, winner of the last two Ballon d’Or awards, was introduced at the break to try and add a Spanish spark, but it was Belgium instead who struck first through Eurlings’ superb finish.
For the second time in the evening, the action quickly went from one end to the other as Spain immediately responded through Gonzalez, who was slipped in by Putellas before finishing calmly.
The world champions upped the intensity from then on, Arsenal star and Women’s Super League player of the year Caldentey turning in a fourth with half an hour to go before Lisa Lichtfus made a point-blank save to deny Pina, Caldentey’s deflected effort flew inches wide and a Putellas glancing header hit the post.

A fifth goal seemed inevitable and when it eventually arrived it was the pick of the bunch, Pina curling an unstoppable strike from the edge of the area into the top corner.
Putellas put the cherry on top late on by cushioning in a tidy finish from close range as she finished her night with two goals and two assists to her name.
With 11 goals in two games, the world champions are the runaway top scorers in the tournament.
