ALCARAZ PAYS TRIBUTE TO NORRIE AFTER VICTORY
Alcaraz paid tribute to Norrie’s work rate after the victory and looked ahead to a mouth-watering semi-final against Taylor Fritz, after the American’s quarter-final victory over Karen Khachanov.
He said in his on-court interview: “I’m just really happy. To be able to play another semi-final at Wimbledon is super special.
“At the beginning of the week, I just wanted to go as far as I could. To play another semi-final here is going to be great, so I’m just reall happy with the level that I played today against a really difficult player like Cam.
“He’s an amazing player, and an amazing guy as well. I’m pretty sure there is nobody who works harder than him, and I’m just really happy to see him fighting for great things.
“I’m happy to see him play in these kinds of matches and happy to qualify for the semi-final.
“He’s (Fritz) playing great. I think the grass season has been really successful for him so far. He has two titles (Stuttgart and Eastbourne), so I will be ready for that battle. I have played a few times against him, he’s always really, really tough to play against, so I will try to play at the same level as today.”
