Between them, Sinner and Alcaraz have won the last six Grand Slams.
“They are the changing of the guard. Federer and Nadal have gone already and I think the sport has felt that.”
Federer retired from tennis at the 2022 Laver Cup having won 20 Grand Slam titles.
Nadal bowed out at the end of the 2024 season with 22 majors, second in the all-time men’s list behind Djokovic.

Djokovic ‘still an amazing player’
Only one member of the ‘Big Three’, Djokovic, is still playing tennis.
The Serbian is continuing his bid at equalling Federer’s eight Wimbledon titles this month.
“Djokovic, I do believe, and I hate to say, is on his last legs,” Kyrgios added.
“He’s still an amazing player and he can still compete, but I’m just not sure for how long.
“I think Alcaraz and Sinner will be carrying this sport for the next 10-15 years.”
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head record 8-4 against Sinner, having won their last five meetings.
The last time that Sinner won against Alcaraz was in October 2023 and the Italian has lost three of their four matches at Grand Slams.

Kyrgios is relishing the prospect of many battles between the two in the future.
“These guys are incredible talents,” he continued. “They’re generational talents and athletes. The sport of tennis is in for a ride with these two competing for Grand Slams.
“We saw that at the French Open, it was one of the highest-quality finals that the sport has ever seen, so we all just need to enjoy the ride.”
Sinner has said his rivalry with Alcaraz is “very special” and he is “happy to be part of it”.

“Back in the days, they played different tennis. Now it’s very physical, but you cannot compare.
“I was lucky enough to play against Novak and Rafa. Beating these guys, it takes a lot.
“I have the same feeling with Carlos and some other players. It’s very special. I’m happy to be part of this.”
The French Open final was the first time that Sinner and Alcaraz had faced off in a Grand Slam final.
They are set to be the favourites at the US Open, which starts on August 24.
Sinner is the defending champion while Alcaraz won his first major in New York in 2022.
