Marcus Rashford is reportedly wanted by one of his former managers – despite their time together at Old Trafford being frayed.
Rashford’s Manchester United career appears to be over and he has not played for the Old Trafford club since declaring in December last year that he wanted a ‘new challenge’.
He was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season but that challenge ended when the Midlands outfit opted against signing him permanently.
Rashford has returned to United’s Carrington base for pre-season training but he is not working with the first-team group.
United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to move Rashford on and could get his wish courtesy of one former Red Devils boss.
Jose Mourinho worked with Rashford for two and a half seasons at Old Trafford and, according to T24now wants to be reunited with him at Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

It is claimed that Fenerbahce are preparing to make an offer to sign Rashford, initially on loan, with the option to sign him permanently for around €46 million (£53m).
Go back to their days together at United and Mourinho upset Rashford after questioning his attitude in a team meeting, and it was notable that the England striker refused to celebrate after scoring for United in a 3-1 defeat at West Ham in September 2018.
Mourinho also reprimanded the young striker for failing to finish a warm-down after he was substituted in a Champions League win over Young Boys in Bern.
Then, in November 2018, Rashford was one of four players, alongside Jesse Lingard, Luke Shaw and Martial, accused of being immature by Mourinho in an extraordinary outburst.
‘They’re lacking maturity,’ he told Univision, a US Spanish-language TV channel. ‘When we talk about Luke Shaw, about Martial, about Lingard, about Marcus Rashford, we’re talking about boys with great potential but who still are lacking – a word I can’t say but you like to say a lot – having that (courage). They’re lacking a bit of this.’

Should the deal go all the way through then it would smash Fenerbahce’s current transfer record.
Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri is currently the most expensive signing in Fenerbahce’s 118-year history, having cost around €20m (£17.3m) when he arrived from Sevilla in July 2024.
Mourinho, who took charge of 144 United games between August 2016 and December 2018, has been at Fenerbahce since June last year.
He guided them to second place in Turkey last season, finishing 11 points behind champions Galatasaray.
Rashford has scored 138 goals in 426 games during his United career. Twenty-eight of those goals came on Mourinho’s watch.
