Stephen Curry has signed a
one-year, $62.6 million extension with the Golden State Warriors in
what is the largest single-season contract in NBA history to
date, according to ESPN’s Adrian
Wojnarowski.
With this new extension, Curry
will join LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the only $500+ million
earning NBA players in history.
ANALYSIS: Curry’s new contract
now aligns with Draymond Green’s, running through the 2026-2027
season. It remains to be seen if head coach Steve Kerr, whose
contract runs through the 2025-2026 season, will also sign a
one-year extension with the team to align his contract with stars
Green and Curry.
Even entering his age-37 season,
Curry remains formidable as ever. The Golden State Warriors
superstar point guard has had a fruitful summer, winning an Olympic
gold medal with Team USA with an iconic performance in the gold
medal game against hosts France.
Golden State enters the new NBA
season with a new group around Curry. They lost Warrior legend Klay
Thompson in free agency to the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors
replaced Thompson with capable surrounding pieces in Kyle Anderson,
DeAnthony Melton, and Buddy Hield as they try to contend in the
tough Western Conference.
