San Antonio Spurs’ Victor
Wembanyama is reportedly intrigued with the idea of teaming up with
Trae Young, according to reports from ESPN’s Tim
MacMahon.
In a podcast with fellow ESPN
analyst Brian Windhorst, MacMahon mentioned the prospect of the
Spurs trading for Young following Atlanta’s recent draft lottery
result.
ANALYSIS: The Hawks have
recently won the No. 1 overall pick and now are at a crossroads to
see what direction they could go. They could choose to either trade
their current pieces right now and build for the future around
burgeoning star Jalen Johnson.
However, Atlanta could also
choose to retool around their stars DeJounte Murray and Young, and
find pieces around them to continue to build and contend with their
current squad.
Since San Antonio controls
Atlanta’s drafts from 2025-2027, they offer the opportunity to
fully embrace a rebuild.
