Free agent Danilo Gallinari will
sign with the Milwaukee Bucks for the rest of the season,
according to The Athletic’s Shams
Charania.
Gallinari, 35, reportedly
considered offers from the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland
Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls but ultimately settled on the Bucks.
He’ll join Milwaukee’s frontcourt and have an opportunity to
reunite with his former coach Doc Rivers, who coached Gallinari for
in Los Angeles.
The 14-year veteran forward
played some of his best basketball under Rivers, averaging 19.8
points per game with the Clippers in the 2018-19 season.
After jumping between the
Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons this season, Gallinari joins
the Bucks’ bench that features Bobby Portis and Jae
Crowder.
This season, Gallinari is
averaging 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while shooting
45.1% from the field, 35.5% from three-point range and 85% from the
free-throw line. His career averages are 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds,
1.9 threes and 1.9 assists on 42.8/38.2/87.6 shooting
splits.
