Golden State Warriors superstar
point guard Stephen Curry seems fed up with the team’s
struggles.
The Warriors are currently 17-20, which is the fourth-worst
record in the Western Conference. They are two games back from the
eighth seed and 1.5 games back from the Play-In
Tournament.
After Golden State’s 141-105
loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the two-time MVP was asked about
the looming NBA trade deadline and whether the team has a window to
show management that they should keep the team together rather than
make some changes. Curry had a rather interesting
response.
“We have a standard that’s pretty evident that
if things stay the same, that’s the definition of insanity, right?

said.

The 35-year-old is known for his
calm demeanor and happy-go-lucky attitude on and off the court, but
it sounds like he’s advocating for the Dubs’ front office to make
trades before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.
It’s very rare (if not unheard
of) for Curry to make comments like this, but it’s understandable
considering the Warriors’ recent woes.
Ownership may also want some
moves, as the Warriors have by far the highest payroll in the NBA
($211,820,254). It’s one thing to pay a huge luxury-tax bill when
the team is contending and trying to extend their dynastic run, but
it’s another when the squad is outside of the playoff
picture.
The 36-point loss to the
Pelicans was the Dubs’ biggest home loss since Curry was drafted 15
years ago.
