Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams will undergo season-ending
surgery on his right posterior cruciate ligament, after
non-operative rehabilitation did not resolve ongoing knee
instability, the team announced today. Adams is expected to make a
full recovery ahead of next season.
Last season, Adams appeared in 42 games, averaging 8.6 points,
11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 blocks, while shooting 59.7%
from the field.
Adams has been out since January, missing the entirety of the
Grizzlies’ playoff run. Memphis will also be without superstar
guard Ja Morant for 25 games as a result of his NBA suspension.
Last season, the Grizzlies won 51 games and finished as the No.
2 seed in the Western Conference.
