Manchester United are still looking for their first win of the new Premier League season after a draw away to Fulham.

Bruno Fernandes missed a first-half penalty at Craven Cottage, blazing a wild effort clear of the cross bar.

A Rodrigo Muniz own goal gave the visitors the lead just before the hour mark but United’s lead was short-lived with Emile Smith Rowe coming off the bench to equalise.

United turned in a bright display against Arsenal despite losing their opening game of the campaign last week and started with similar drive in west London.

Matheus Cunha was denied by the post early on with Bernd Leno producing a sublime save to deny the Brazilian later on in the first-half to keep the visitors at bay.

Altay Bayindir, once again preferred to Andre Onana, was constantly targeted by the Cottagers on set pieces with the Turkey international doing little to ease concerns over his role in the team.

United were given the chance to take the lead before half-time with VAR awarding them a spot kick when Calvin Bassey threw Mason Mount to the ground.

Fernandes, usually so reliable from 12 yards, blasted a wild effort well over the cross bar.

The hosts did find the breakthrough after 58 minutes. Leny Yoro latched onto Bryan Mbeumo’s corner kick but it was the last touch of Muniz that diverted it past Leno.

United wilted after opening the scoring with Smith Rowe scoring with his first touch off the bench.

With Matthijs de Ligt opting to let Alex Iwobi’s cross run by him, the former Arsenal star crept in at the near post to level the game.

United picked up their first point of the season ahead of the visit of Burnley next weekend.
