West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug seemingly wants to leave the club, according to his agent.
The German striker joined the club last summer from £23million, and his move was met with anticipation and expectation – but things haven’t exactly worked out that way.
He has scored just three goals and managed only 27 appearances as he has tackled a string of injuries and had to fight for his place in the team.
The move to London came on the back of a prolific season with Borussia Dortmund and an impressive Euro 2024 with Germany – but things haven’t worked out for any of the parties involved and, according to agent Thorsten Wirth, the player’s side are now hunting for a way out.
‘Many would probably agree with that, seeing Niclas as a classic penalty area striker,’ Wirth told the TOMorrow Business Podcast. ‘Strong in the air, physically strong, can shield the ball – so basically made for the Premier League.
‘Looking back, we have to say the transfer didn’t work out. There’s no point in sugarcoating it.’

Fullkrug is currently out injured with a thigh issue and has been absent since the middle of October.
Last season, he missed six of the nine months of the campaign, but there were higher hopes when he had a full pre-season in the summer.
He has lost several kilograms of weight since his debut season and was available in the early days of Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign, but his future is now unclear.
When asked if he would try and help his client leave West Ham, Wirth said: ‘This always has to happen in cooperation with the club, but I believe it can make sense to change something there.
‘Time and again, at a point where you said now he’s coming, now he’ll show England that it wasn’t just a good European Championship and then nothing more will come of it – another injury came along, and that’s a shame.
‘He had a bit of a negative momentum and also some bad luck.’
